Terms of Service

01The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Orpto ("we", "us"), a website-building service operated from Slovenia. By creating an account or using orpto.com, you accept them. If you're using Orpto on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for that business.

02The service

Orpto generates a website for your business from the information you provide, hosts it, and gives you a visual editor to keep it up to date. Parts of the service use artificial intelligence to draft text and images. AI output is a starting point produced from your answers — it can contain errors, and you are responsible for reviewing your website's content before you publish it.

03Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. One person or business per account; you may not share, sell or transfer an account without our agreement.

04Free trial

New accounts get a free trial (currently two weeks) without entering a card. During the trial you can build and preview your website. When the trial ends, keeping your website live requires a subscription — we'll tell you before anything is charged, and if you don't subscribe, nothing ever is.

05Plans, billing & cancellation

• Price. One plan: €139 per year, or €15 per month billed monthly. Prices include applicable VAT unless stated otherwise at checkout.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• Cancellation. You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for — you keep the service until then, and you're not charged again.
• Refunds. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable. If you're an EU consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase; contact us at hi@orpto.com to exercise it.
• Price changes. If we change prices, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, and the new price applies from your next renewal — never mid-period.
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe, subject to Stripe's own terms.

06Domains

Annual plans include a .com domain, which we register and connect for you. The domain is registered for your benefit: if you leave Orpto, you can ask us to transfer it to you or to another provider. Domain registrations are subject to the registrar's terms and ICANN rules. If your subscription lapses, we are not obliged to renew the domain on your behalf — we'll warn you before it expires.

07Your content & AI-generated content

• Yours stays yours. You keep all rights to the content you provide — text, photos, business information. You grant us the licence we need to host, display, back up and process it in order to run your website.
• AI output is yours to use. To the extent we hold any rights in text or images generated for your website, we assign or license them to you for use with your business.
• You're responsible for what you publish. You confirm you have the rights to the content you upload, and that your published website is accurate, lawful and doesn't infringe anyone's rights. We host your site; we don't review or endorse its content.

08Acceptable use

You may not use Orpto to publish or do anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful. That includes: content that infringes intellectual-property rights; scams, impersonation or misleading business claims; malware or phishing; hate speech or harassment; or attempts to probe, overload or disrupt the platform itself. We may suspend or remove websites that break these rules — where reasonable, we'll contact you first.

09Our platform

The Orpto platform — the software, the design system, the templates, the brand — belongs to us and our licensors. Your subscription gives you the right to use it to run your website; it doesn't transfer ownership of any of it, and you may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the platform.

10Cancellation & what happens after

When your subscription ends — because you cancelled or a payment repeatedly failed — your website is taken offline at the end of the paid period. We keep your account data for a limited wind-down period so you can come back or export your content, after which it is deleted. You can request immediate deletion anytime at privacy@orpto.com.

We may terminate or suspend an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms. If we ever discontinue the service as a whole, we'll give you reasonable notice to take your content and your domain with you.

11Availability & changes to the service

We work to keep Orpto and your website online around the clock, and published sites are served from a global CDN for resilience. Still, no online service can promise 100% uptime — maintenance, outages at our providers, and faults happen. We make daily backups of your website content, and we may improve or change features of the service over time; if we remove something significant, we'll tell you in advance.

12Disclaimers & liability

Orpto is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — such as lost profits, lost business or lost data — arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including our liability for intent or gross negligence — and nothing in them limits the statutory rights you hold as a consumer.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Slovenia. If you're a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you may bring disputes before your local courts.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use Orpto after that date means you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can cancel before they apply.
